VSFusion analysts utilize two leading software packages for borehole seismic processing

SeisLink
SeisLink™ interactive VSP processing suite is used for the majority of VSP processing from simple checkshots to 2D Walkaway VSPs. The interactive software design eases input of various data types, including surface seismic and log data, with outputs to a plotter or to an industry standard CGM format.

Functions unique to borehole seismic processing, such as wavefield alignments, linear depth displays, and multicomponent displays, are fully integrated components of the SeisLink system. 2D sparse-spike inversion is one of many special tools in built into the software. System capabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Checkshot surveys
  • Well-log editing and calibration
  • Synthetic seismogram
  • Zero-offset VSP
  • Offset/multioffset VSP
  • Walkaway VSP
  • Multicomponent VSP
  • 3D VSP
  • AVO modeling and analysis
  • 1D, 2D & 3D acoustic impedance inversion
  • Fracture analysis
  • Microseismic analysis
  • Wavelet extraction
  • Tau-P processing

GeoCluster
GeoCluster is a comprehensive seismic processing suite built around clusters of PC type CPUs and has enormous processing capabilities. CGGVeritas uses the system for 3D and 4D surface seismic processing and analysis. Large borehole seismic datasets, including 3D VSPs, are loaded into the GeoCluster system for batch processing, facilitating fast turnaround. A full suite of analytical tools are available with 3D VSP data from inversion to 3D visualization. Processing within a Linux™ environment means portability, enabling VSP processing to be performed at virtually any location.
