Tool Deployment Methods – Conveyance Options
Baker Atlas DSS has deployment methods to allow for
successful data acquisition for any wellbore – in any
environment with any geometric complexity. Our seismic
tools can be deployed via standard wireline, slammer
cable, drill pipe, pump down, well tractor and
coiled-tubing conveyance systems. |
PipeSeis
Through-drillpipe VSP
Using this unique method, DSS can obtain high-quality
VSP data in highly deviated wells. This well-established
service from Baker Atlas provides a safe, cost-effective
time-saving alternative to pipe-conveyed acquisition.
The PipeSeis™ through-drillpipe technique utilizes
CERBERUS wireline tension/drag/pumping modeling to
optimize acquisition parameters while working closely
with the drilling department. Experienced PipeSeis
specialist engineers deploy the tool via pump down and
using real-time monitoring of downhole signal quality,
enable optimal receiver placement. It is a safe
deployment, as the tool never lies in open hole.
This acquisition method allows for data gathering
without the use of PCL, which means considerable rig
time savings. The PipeSeis service produces reliable
time-depth data and a high-quality, high-frequency VSP
image below wellbore, with increased resolution over
surface seismic sections. |
